Remark. In older literature (see synonyms) presence of Phthiracarus piger (Scopoli, 1763) is indicated for several locations of Georgia. After Niedbała (1992) and Weigmann (2006) it is species inquirinda which is impossible to identify as any modern described species. It is regarded as synonym to P. laevigatus by Willmann (1931).
