Lectotype (Tucker & al. in Taxon 29: 235, f. 5. 1980): Herb. Clifford: 306, Mentha 4 (BM-000646007) .

Current name: Mentha aquatica L. View in CoL ( Lamiaceae ).

Note: Graham (in Watsonia 3: 109. 1954) provided an extensive appraisal of 730.9 (LINN), concluding that it conflicts with Linnaeus’ protologue.
