Mardonius importatus Demange, 1977b: 238 , 241 (D). India, Alagarkovil Hills, Bellary Fields. Remarks: This species seems to be the only representative of the primarily Afro- and Neotropical family Spirostreptidae View in CoL that has been recorded from India. Both other component species of the genus are restricted to central and eastern Africa (cf. Krabbe 1982), whereas M. importatus has definitely been introduced to India, although its native area remains unknown.
