This genus has remained based on a single female collected in Trinidad. It resembles Sigmothrips View in CoL in the shape of head, Retithrips View in CoL in the form and color of the legs, Zaniothrips View in CoL in the form of the antennae and Helionothrips View in CoL in the form and colour of the fore wings. The genus Oneilliella View in CoL was distinguished by Wilson (1975) from other Panchaetothripinae View in CoL by body colouration and chaetotaxy; antennal chaetotaxy and sense cones; head and thorax sculpture; fore wing chaetotaxy.
