Type material examined. Holotype: male, “ Sarawak: Gunong Mulu Nat. Park, R.G.S. Exped. 1977-8, J.D. Holloway et al. B.M.1979-206” / “Site 16. Additional material examined: 2 males, 1 female, Malaysia, Pahang Distr., Endau Rompin State Park, Camping by the Kincin River , 50m, 2°37'10.4''N, 103°20'10.9''E, 1–13.III.2011, Karol Bucsek leg., gen. prep. Nos: ZSM GoogleMaps Arct. 2021-095 (male) and ZSM Arct. 2021-096 (female) (prepared by Volynkin) (MWM/ ZSM).

Diagnosis. The forewing length is 10.0–12.0 m in males and 11.0–13.0 mm in females. Male of the species can be distinguished by the somewhat darker forewing ground colour with a more intense brown suffusion. Female of D. trimacula differs from those of the congeners in the brown forewing ground colour (it is blackish-brown in D. navneetsinghi sp. n. and D. pahanga ) and the wider subapical ochreous-yellow area. Additionally, the ochreous-yellow costal stripe of D. trimacula is markedly narrower than in D. navneetsinghi sp. n. The male genital capsule of D. trimacula differs from those of the congeners in the short and narrow uncus (the smallest in the genus) with a tiny claw-shaped tip, the rectangular apex of the dorsal section of the valva with a claw-shaped tip dorsally (it is slender and apically pointed in the congeners), and the wide and round ventral process of the distal saccular process. The phallus of the species is shorter than in the congeners. The vesica structure of D. trimacula is similar to that of D. navneetsinghi sp. n. but the subapical diverticulum is shorter and the distal diverticulum is basally narrower and bears a basally wider cornutus. The female genitalia of D. trimacula are most similar to those of D. pahanga , thee comparison is provided above in the diagnosis of the latter species.

Distribution. Known from Borneo Island ( Holloway 2001) and Malay Peninsula ( Černý & Pinratana 2009; Bucsek 2012). The record from Laos ( Kishida 2020) requires clarification and probably belongs to D. navneetsinghi sp. n.
