Type locality. Kenya, Western, Kakamega Forest Nature Reserve (holotype 3 in Staatliches Museum für Naturkunde Stuttgart, not examined).
Distribution. According to Kühne (2008), Uganda, Rwuanda, Kenya, Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Diagnosis. Similar to Afrasura amaniensis but with four spurs on the hindlegs (two in amaniensis ) and male forewing underside costal base dark (yellow in amaniensis ).
Remarks. The group Afrasura amaniensis , A. discreta , A. submarmorata and A. violacea is similar in genitalic morphology; the group is East African except for discreta , which is West African.
