Observations. ARGENTINA • Multiple ♂ and ♀; Corrientes, La Cruz, Paraje Tres Cerros; 29°09′20′′S, 056°51′43′′W. We observed several individuals foraging on the open grounds and grasslands and perching on tree branches GoogleMaps .

Identification. Fairly terrestrial woodpecker. Identified by its both sides of the head, breast and neck, yellow. Crown black and malar red in male.
