Diagnosis. Hypatopa biprojecta is similar to H. actes Adamski, 2013 and H. juno Adamski, 2013 in the male genitalia by the anellus having two dorsoapical processes. Hypatopa biprojecta can be separated from the latter two species by the gnathos notched medially on the posterior margin, and the clubbed distal process about 1/3 the length of the ventral part of the valva. In H. actes and H. juno the gnathos is not notched on the posterior margin, and the subtriangular distal process is about 1/6 the length of the ventral part of the valva.

Description. Forewing length 6.5–9.0 mm ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 2−9 ). Head pale grayish brown, scales tipped with grayish white. Antenna with scape brown on dorsal surface except some scales tipped with grayish white, grayish white on ventral surface; pecten yellowish brown; flagellum brown and becoming paler from base to apex, ciliated on ventral surface in male. Labial palpus brown except some scales tipped with grayish white, inner surface with scattered grayish white scales; third segment slightly shorter than second, pointed apically. Haustellum grayish brown. Thorax and tegula dark brown, some scales tipped with grayish white. Forewing brown, scales tipped with grayish white; discal and plical spots dark brown, diffused, with an ill-defined grayish white fascia along inner margin; two discocellular spots black; fringe grayish brown, intermixed with grayish white tipped brown and grayish brown scales. Hindwing and fringe grayish brown, gradually darker from base to apex. Legs pale grayish brown on dorsal surface, dark brown on ventral surface, scales tipped with grayish white; tibia of hindleg and all tarsomeres grayish white at apex.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 15−17 ). Uncus subtriangular, wide at base, narrowed to a rounded apex, slightly curved ventrad, sparsely setose. Gnathos with posterior margin slightly arched and notched medially, anteriorly obtriangular. Dorsal part of valva with costal process slightly narrowed from about middle to rounded apex, from costa uniformly extending ventrad to proximal flange; proximal flange rounded, with sparse spines along outer margin, its inner surface with dense microtrichiae on dorsal half, setose and mixed with small dentitions on ventral half. Ventral part of valva with basal 2/3 broad, subovoidal; distal process clubbed, bent inward, sparsely setose on outer surface, flat and smooth on inner surface; sacculus uniformly wide in basal half, gradually narrowed from middle to terminal, with long setae along distal 4/5 of ventral margin. Juxta a broad transverse band, weakly sclerotized. Vinculum a narrow band. Phallus longer than valva, wide at base, gradually narrowed from base to basal 1/3, distal 2/3 almost uniform, slightly curved ventrad at middle; internal sclerite slightly curved ventrad medially; anellus with cone-like setae subapically, with two small triangular processes arising from dorsal surface apically ( Fig. 17a View FIGURES 15−17 ).

Female genitalia ( Fig. 24 View FIGURES 21−24 ). Apophyses posteriores approximately 3 times length of apophyses anteriores. Eighth tergum with a darkly pigmented longitudinal median streak. Intersegmental membrane posterior to seventh segment bearing microtrichiae around ostium. Seventh tergum nearly straight on posterior margin, with 3–4 trans- verse, irregularly rowed spine-like setae; sternum slightly concave medially on posterior margin. Antrum funnelshaped. Ductus bursae coiled; internal wall with overlapping platelets on anterior 1/5; ductus seminalis arising from ductus bursae proximal to antrum. Corpus bursae rounded, with dense granules; signum at middle of corpus bursae, rounded, with a small subtriangular process arising from middle.

Distribution. China (Gansu, Hebei, Ningxia, Shanxi).

Etymology. The specific epithet of this species is derived from the Latin bi- and projectus, in reference to the two dorsoapical processes of the anellus.
