Material examined: KwaZulu­Natal: 2 km north­west of Estcourt (29º05'S: 29º54'E) grassland, moist soil, 12 May 1993, JDP GoogleMaps and I. Pajor: NMSA / Olig. 01894, 1 cl + 3 juv + 3 abscised short anterior parts + 3 abscised posterior parts; NMSA / Olig. 01895 and NMSA / Olig. 01896, 4 cocoons and 2 juvenile individuals coming out of cocoon; NMSA / Olig. 01897, 1 juvenile autotomised into two parts. 5 km north of Mooi River (29º12'S: 30º01'E), primary grassland, moist soil, 5 December 1996, JDP, TL: NMSA GoogleMaps / Olig. 02447 and NMSA / Olig. 02451, 1 cl + 13 juv, JDP, TL .

Remarks: The species is related to gracilis and ivari , sympatric with them. Present sites confirm species occurrence in the extended area of a neighbourhood of the type locality. Collection sites are shown in Fig. 7 View Fig .

Material examined: KwaZulu­Natal: Weenen Nature Reserve : NMSA / Olig. 03183 Nyandu Camp , under tent (28º35'S: 29º01'E) 1 cl, 30 September 2000; NMSA GoogleMaps / Olig. 03180 near main road, under rock in Acacia savannah burnt recently (28º51'40"S: 30º03'06"E) 1 cl, 26 September 2000; both samples collected by R GoogleMaps . Slotow. Otto’s Bluff, Wattle Grove (29º28'30"S: 30º22'12"E) from wet soil under indigenous grassland, NMSA GoogleMaps / Olig. 03379, 1 with tubercula pubertatis, abscised posteriorly + 3 juv, + posterior part, 12 January 2001, JDP, AJA, TN .

Remarks: The species is known from the upper Thukela River Valley and from its neighbouring area in central KZN ( Fig. 7 View Fig ).
