It must remain doubtful whether these two records (and that of cretense above) are really referable to xanthostma, since a series of subspecies or races are known from Asia Minor, Caucasia, Syria, etc., and in Cyprus a t least there is a form very close to xanthostma but which has both heteromorphic and homoeomorphic females.
