It is not possible as yet to determine to which of the subspecies of I. elegans recently erected by Schmidt (1938, S.B. Akad. Wiss. Wien (math.-nat.) (I) 147:142) these records should be credited; probably either to I. elegans ebneri (Crete, Cyprus, Syria, Palestine) or to I. elegans pontica (from Neusiedler See and Carinthia through Hungary and the northern Balkans to Caspian Persia).
