Remarks.
Wenz (1929: 2813) synonymized the species with Melanopsis pygmaea Hörnes, 1856. Jekelius (1944: 75) invalidly synonymized it with Melanopsis handmanni , which is the objective junior synonym of Melanopsis fuchsi Handmann, 1882.
