Comm.: This Neotropical genus comprises 11 described species, which are distributed from Mexico to Brazil ( Bravo 2004a, Ibáñez-Bernal 2008). Originally proposed by Quate (1996), the genus was redefined by Quate & Brown (2004), who included a key for the identification of species. The taxon was recorded in Colombia by Collantes et al. (2000) without specifying the species or locality.
