Stenispa guatemalensis View in CoL was previously known only from Colombia and Guatemala ( Uhmann 1957). There is no published information on the biology of this species, but the larval host plant is probably a member of Cyperaceae View in CoL or Poaceae ( Staines 2002a) View in CoL .
