The holotype and one paratype are deposited in NMPC:

(Specimen card-mounted; left antennal segments III–IV, left middle leg and right hind leg missing; pygophore detached, dissected male genitalia mounted on a separate piece of card).
PARATYPE (J): ‘Faimaire / Madagascar [hw] // Paratypus [p, red label] // Paratypus [p] / Mezira / singularis / sp.n. J [hw] / Det. L. Hoberlandt, 19[p]52 [hw, red label]’.
Current status. Valid species (see USINGER & MATSUDA 1959, HOBERLANDT 1963, KORMILEV & FROESCHNER 1987, HEISS 2012).
Remarks. According to the original description, the species was described based on two males, holotype and paratype from ‘Ampana, 1937 F. Lamberton’, deposited in NMPC. According to the labels of the types, the information in the original description seems incorrect.
