Bombus (Megabombus) burmensis View in CoL nom. nov.
Diversibombus [sic] malaisei Skorikov 1937:2 View in CoL (not of Bischoff 1930:4 = B. sporadicus Nylander View in CoL , see Williams et al. 2012). Syntype queens said to be at the Zoological Institute of St Petersburg, but not found (Y. Pesenko in litt.), although their identity is not in doubt.
Bombus (Diversobombus) trifasciatus Smith View in CoL ; Williams 1991: 52 in part.
Bombus malaisei (Skorikov) View in CoL ; Hines and Williams 2012:821; Huang et al. 2015:7.
Because B. malaisei (Skorikov) View in CoL is a secondary junior homonym in the genus Bombus View in CoL of B. terrestris View in CoL [subspecies] malaisei Bischoff View in CoL , the replacement name B. burmensis View in CoL nom. nov. is proposed here ( ICZN 1999: Article 60.3) in order to reduce the confusion that might follow if the name malaisei (Skorikov) View in CoL were to be propagated in the literature and were then changed subsequently. The replacement name follows the name for the country of origin
used by Skorikov.
