Type Locality: Perú, Cuzco Dept., Ocabamba Valley, 9100 ft (2774 m).

Vernacular Names: Daphne's Thomasomys.

Synonyms: Thomasomys australis Anthony 1925 .

Distribution: E Andean slopes from S Perú to WC Bolivia (see Anderson, 1997:Fig. 703).

Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).

Discussion: Anderson (1997) maintained australis as the subspecies for Bolivian populations.
