Two specimens of the spaghetti eel Moringua edwardsi View in CoL (Jordan & Bollman) were collected during the spring and winter. The main character is the presence of 7-8 stellate melanophores on the midlateral line (Smith, 1989d) (Figure 9).

One specimen was recorded near Salvador and the other was found over one seamount (Figure 10). Study Material: DZUFRJ 2828, 2829; two specimens; total myomeres 115; 12.0-45.7 mm SL
