( Fig. 60 View FIGURE 60 , Plate 3 C View PLATE 3 , distribution map Fig. 70 K View FIGURE 70 )

Coccus manniparus Hemprich & Ehrenberg in Ehrenberg, 1829: 1. Trabutina leonardii Sivestri View in CoL in Leonardi, 1920: 451. Trabutina palestina Bodenheimer, 1927: 179 View in CoL . Trabutina bogdanovikatjkovi Borchsenius, 1941: 131 View in CoL .

Field characteristics: Body of live adult female oval, 1.2‒5.2 mm long, enveloped in a rubbery brown secreted covering. Young females form an oval ovisac with a lengthwise band of white filamentous wax; older females have ball-shaped ovisacs, with the edges closed; the lengthwise strip of white wax disappears with time ( Ben-Dov 1988; Danzig & Miller 1996).

Microscopic diagnosis: Slide-mounted adult female broadly oval to rotund. Anal lobes not developed. Antennae each with 6 or 7 segments. Legs well developed; hind coxa enlarged, with translucent pores; claw digitules setose; claw without a denticle; tarsal digitules pointed at tip and longer than claw. Anal cerarii sometimes indistinguishable from other marginal setal clusters; other cerarii absent. Circulus absent. Anterior and posterior ostioles present. Anal ring incomplete, U-shaped, with 2 interrupted rows of pores and 6 setae.

Dorsum with slender pointed setae, these becoming progressively shorter anteriorly; anal ring surrounded by 14−25 long setae. Multilocular disc pores, if present, sometimes each with as few as 5 loculi; normally absent, but occasionally with up to 8 pores on abdominal segments V, VI, or VII. Trilocular pores few on head, but numerous on abdomen, near ostioles, and around anal ring. Discoidal pores, each with a granular centre surrounded by a dark rim, of 2 sizes: large pores, each with a thick irregular rim, conspicuous anterior to anal ring; and small pores, sparsely scattered in submarginal areas. Oral collar tubular ducts numerous, of 3 sizes: smallest ducts present on abdominal segments; medium-sized ducts most abundant on posterior of abdomen, also present on thorax and head; and largest ducts most abundant on thorax and head. Medial areas of abdomen and thorax with fewer ducts; ducts completely absent from abdominal segment VIII.

Venter with slender pointed setae. Multilocular disc pores each with 10 loculi, present across most abdominal segments and thorax, scattered on head; dispersed in transverse bands 2 or 3 pores wide on medregion of abdominal segments. Trilocular pores present on all segments, more concentrated around spiracles and in area posterior to vulva. Oral collar ducts of 2 sizes, same as on dorsum, numerous, the larger ducts out-numbering the smaller ducts.

Distribution: Trabutina mannipara has been recorded from 22 countries in the Palaearctic Region including Iran ( García Morales et al. 2016), where it has been found in Esfahan, Khorasan -e shomali, Semnan and Tehran provinces ( Moghaddam 2013b).

Host-plants: The species has been recorded on Tamarix spp. (Tamaricaceae) ( García Morales et al. 2016).

Economic importance: None in Iran.

Natural enemies: None recorded in Iran.
