Envekadea palestinae (Gerloff, Natour & Rivera) Lee, Tobias & Van de Vijver comb. nov.

Basionym: Navicula palestinae Gerloff, Natour & Rivera 1984 in Gerloff et al. Nova Hedwigia p. 678, Plate 5, Figs 37– 40, Plate 6, Fig. 41.

The species name N. palestinae was previously used by the same three authors in a paper published six years prior to its official description ( Gerloff et al. 1978) but since several necessary items were lacking in the 1978 paper, such as the Latin description and the designation of a holotype, the publication of the name N. palestinae in 1978 should be considered as nomen nudum, and the valid publication date of the species set to 1984 (art. 33.1 of the International Code for Botanical Nomenclature, McNeill et al. 2012).
