Diagnosis. Small, pallid gray, variegated with brown on head, metopidium and base of posterior process. Suprahumeral horns abruptly acute to apex; lateral spines of posterior process short, conical.
Measurements (mm). Male. Total length: 5.58; pronotal length 4.50; tegmina length 5.00; width between humeral angles 1.64; width between apices of suprahumeral horns 2.64; maximum width between apices of of posterior process 1.52; head width 1.60; head length 0.84.
Description. Holotype male. Body entirely pallid gray; head, metopidium, base of suprahumeral horns and spines of posterior process, variegated with brown; tegmina hyaline.
Head triangular, about two times wider than long, weakly sculptured, smooth and brilliant. Eyes globose. Ocelli equidistant from each other and to eyes, located on transocular line. Vertex with superior margin straight; suprantennal ledges short, rounded. Postclypeus diamond-shaped, apex ovoid, extended 2/3 its length bellow margins of suprantennal ledges.
Pronotum not globose; suprahumeral horns short, thickened basally then abruptly acuminate, with apices directed outwards, almost horizontal, and slightly posteriorly. Median swelling inconspicuous, depressed in front and sloping posteriorly. Posterior process lower than metopidium, weakly inflated; lateral spines short, about as long as suprahumeral horns, acute; median spine parallel to internal margin of tegmina.
Female. Unknown.
Holotype male. “ Mexico: Oaxaca, 12 km | N Oaxaca Cyty, hwy 175 | 1900 m, 22.IX.1990 | leg.R.Baranowski”. (LUND).
Comments. This small pallid species resembles Poppea reticulata Fowler , however the posterior process is only weakly inflated. The lateral spines of posterior process are very short and straight in P. pallida sp. nov..
