Distribution. Wanang, Madang province, Papua New Guinea
Diagnosis. Species mainly black and white, unique by the coloration pattern of pronotum bearing a succession of three bands white, black and grey.
Description. Total length of holotype 8.1 mm (incl. tegmina), female paratypes between 9.3 and 9.8 mm.
Head in dorsal view, 1.7 times wider between eyes than long in midline. Distance between eye and ocellus 3.7 times greater than between ocelli. In lateral view, postclypeus gently curved and getting steeper toward clypeal margin. In frontal view, middle longitudinal gutter present on postclypeus. Rostrum reaching metacoxa. Pronotum convex, in dorsal view, 1.9 times wider than long in midline. Scutellum bearing a median dimple. Tegmen length: 6.7 mm and 4 times longer than wide. Longitudinal pit on lower half of protibia external side present.
Male terminalia. Subgenital plate extremely long, 2 times as long as pygofer height, curving dorsally at half of its length, apical half slimmer than anterior half, tip not sharp ( Fig. 12 View FIGURES 8–14 ). Parameres with dorsal and ventral margins almost parallel and finishing apically into an axe shaped apex, presence of a few long setae along apical margin. Intermediate plate present and shaped like tweezers apically ( Fig. 14 View FIGURES 8–14 ). Aedeagus bearing a small rounded hump at base of dorsal margin, which curves strongly dorsally and finish apically into a hump, ventral margin curving regularly dorsally and bearing posteriorly toward apex a sharp pointed protrusion pointing posteriorly ( Fig. 13 View FIGURES 8–14 ).
Colour. Mostly white and black ( Figs 8, 9 View FIGURES 8–14 ). Head bearing a black transversal band between eyes and a white one anteriorly with frontal anterior margin black. Postclypeus black on upper 2/3, last 1/3 and anteclypeus white, rostrum yellowish. Antenna yellow with pedicel black. Pronotum bearing anteriorly a white band followed by two others, respectively black and grey, its posterior margin is brownish. Scutellum white except anterior margin brownish. In ventral view, thorax white. Pro- and mesofemora dark yellow, pro- and mesotibiae and all tarsal segments black, metafemur white, and metatibia white except for the spines. Tegmen with a basal white spot followed by a black band, apex, veins and costal margin brownish, rest of tegmen transparent. Hindwing transparent with black veins. Abdomen and genitalia black.
Etymology. The dominant colours for this species are the white and black. We chose to name it albonigrus , contraction of white and black in Latin.
