This taxon is well recorded in the Paleocene, probably occurring in the SB1 (upper part) - SB3 interval ( Barattolo, 1998). The alga is found as isolated discs. The oblique section of Fig. 10 d View Fig clearly shows the perforated upper and lower walls of the fertile disc, whereas the partitions between gametangia are imperforate.
