Diagnosis. This species is easily distinguishable from the other congers by head and pronotum with white and light brown pubescence and elytra dominantly covered with brown pubescence.
Redescription. Male (Figs 1–2, 11; n = 1): LB = 7.0 mm, WB = 2.8 mm.
Body reddish dark brown to black. Head, pronotum, elytra, and femora with sparse long suberect light brown setae; inferior side of antenna and tibiae with dense same setae. Head clothed with light brown and white pubescence. Antenna with scape, pedicel, and each basal part of antennomeres 3–11 with light brown and white pubescence, and the reminders with brown pubescence. Pronotum with disk clothed with same pubescence as head; latero-dorsal side with black longitudinal vitta obliquely extending medially along basal margin. Elytra covered with brown pubescence, scattered with several small spots of white pubescence and several small tufts of black short setae throughout. Dominant part of ventral surface and legs with brown, light brown, and whitish pubescence.
Eye with LL/WL = 1.3, LL/LG = 1.3. Antenna 1.4 times as long as body; relative length of each segment as follows: 1.3: 0.3: 1.5: 1.3: 1.0: 0.9: 0.9: 0.8: 0.7: 0.7: 0.6. Pronotum with LP/WP = 0.8, LP/LB = 0.2, WP/ WEH = 0.7, provided with coarse sparse punctures which are distinct in lateral and latero-dorsal side but indistinct in disk; disk with three distinct small tubercles; lateral side with small dull projection near apical margin. Elytra with LE/WEH = 1.7, LE/LB = 0.7, LE/LP = 2.8; disk with longitudinal weak obtuse ridge behind base near each middle, with rough sparse punctures which are distinct in basal part, reduced apically and indistinct near truncate apex, without distinct granules.
Male genitalia ( Figs 41–47 View FIGURES 41 – 54 ; n = 1): tegmen slightly curved in lateral view. Paramere in dorsal view 1/6 of the length of tegmen, gently constricted in base, gently curved in apical 2/3; ventral side with obtuse inwardly directed cylindroid projection behind base. Median lobe weakly curved in lateral view; median strut disjunct before middle; apex in ventral plate roundly pointed. Endophallus (partly broken in the distal part of APH) subequal to the twice length of median lobe; PB relatively short. MSp comparatively dense and distributed in proximal 2/3 of MT+CT. LSp distributed in distal 1/3 of MT+CT. SSp densely covered most area of PB.
Female (Figs 3–4, 12; n = 6): LB = 7.1–8.6 mm, WB = 3.0– 3.4 mm. Similar to male, but relatively rotund. Antenna 1.1–1.3 times as long as body; relative length of each segment as follows: 1.3–1.4: 0.3: 1.5–1.7: 1.4–1.5: 1.0–1.1: 0.9: 0.8: 0.7: 0.6–0.7: 0.6–0.7: 0.5–0.6.
Distribution. Sumatra, Borneo.
Remarks. This species was previously known only from Sumatra ( Breuning 1939). We present here the first record from Borneo.
