Type: — INDIA. Himachal Pradesh: Mandi, on petiole of Phoenix rupicola , 19 November 2012, I. B. Prasher and R. K. Verma ( PAN 30313! holotype).
Differs from Dictyosporium tetraploides in having smaller conidia with 6–7 rows of cells.
Colonies on the natural substratum conspicuous, black, scattered in the form of compact sporodochia. Sporodochia 130–415 μm in diameter. Conidiophores hyaline, thin-walled, short. Conidia (33–)36–46(–48) ×13–18 μm, cylindrical in lateral view, clavate, cheiroid in ventral view, smooth-walled, consisting of a subhyaline, cubical truncate basal cell 5–7 μm in diameter, on which 6–7 discrete, vertical rows of cells are inserted in different plane; rows of cells tightly appressed together as a cylinder and separate only under pressure; each row contains 8–10 cells; each arm is 4–7 μm
wide,7–9(–10) septate and terminates in an incurved hook, cells in each row range from 3–6 × 4–7 μm. Conidia bear 1–2, hyaline, thin-walled, aseptate, subapical appendages, 5–13 × 5–7 μm.
Habitat/Distribution: —Saprobic on dead petiole of Phoenix rupicola, T. Anderson ( Arecaceae ), Himachal Pradesh, India.
Etymology: — indicum from country of origin.
