Orthorapha View in CoL , typical subgenus

Distribution. Confined to the mountains of coastal Brazil.

Diagnosis. Frons unmarked, varying from pale to entirely dark, or with darkened muscle arcs. Frons large, in profile projecting below plane of clypellus; ocelli absent. Pronotum steeply declivous. Tegminal venation absent or indicated only by colour pattern with numerous nearly parallel veinlets in tips. Tegmina short and strongly convex, twice as long as broad or shorter. Hindwings absent, or with costa slightly produced as low, rounded basal lobe, armed with 2–3 fine hairlike spines directed outwards ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 H), narrow with venation weak, most apparent at tips; fold between forks of Cu deep and anal lobe narrow ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 F). Hind basitarsomere hirsute on lower surface (except in O. invidia sp. nov.)

Included species. Four species.

Remarks. The narrow hindwings with reduced wing-coupling hooks suggests that even fully winged individuals are flightless.
