Remarks: Though only molds of this species were recovered, they have preserved their ornamentation in great detail. It is possible to observe the rostrum, the reticulated ornamentation throughout the entire carapace, and small tubercles concentrated mainly in the anterior and posterior regions with some also being horizontally aligned in the median to ventro-median region as well. Notably, the molds of the tubercles point to the presence of fine ornamentation at their tips, consisting of around eight small nodule-like structures that surround a normal pore canal ( Fig. 4.2B View FIGURE 4 ), similarly to what is observed in species such as Cypridea heliopolisensi Bischoff, 1963 . As the only Cypridea species formally described alongside species of Pattersoncypris for the Lower Cretaceous of Brazil is Cypridea araripensis , and the positioning of the tubercles preserved in these molds matches that species, the authors decided to place it under this classification.
