Type.

VIETNAM. " Annam : massif du Lang-Bian, grand Piton Lang-Bian, près du village de Beneur", 1500-2000 m, 15 Feb. 1914, A.J.B Chevalier 30029 (holotype: P [P00379254!]; isotypes: P [P00379255! P00379256!]) .

Distribution and habitat.

VIETNAM. Lam Dong Province: Bidoup-Nui Ba National Park. In this study, Quercus langbianensis s. str. is known only from Lang-Bian Mountain of the national park, in lower montane evergreen forest at 1472 m and 1533 m altitude.
