Diagnosis. Following van Achterberg,1995 and Quicke et al., 1997, the genus Yelicones can be recognized by the following combination of characters—mandibles with a small accessory third tooth; hind wing with vein 2m-cu ( Figs 3B View FIGURE 3 , 5B, 5C View FIGURE 5 , 6 View FIGURE 6 , 7D View FIGURE 7 , 10D View FIGURE 10 , 11 View FIGURE 11 , 12C View FIGURE 12 ); shortened fore tarsi ( Figs 6 View FIGURE 6 , 7D View FIGURE 7 , 10A View FIGURE 10 ); second, third and fourth tarsal segments very short, telotarsus enlarged ( Fig. 10D View FIGURE 10 ); hind basitarsus laterally compressed ( Fig. 10D View FIGURE 10 ); claws pectinate; ovipositor not or hardly exserted ( Figs 3A View FIGURE 3 , 5G View FIGURE 5 , 10D View FIGURE 10 ).
