Type locality. Italy, Rome.
Type host. Mus decumanus = Rattus norvegicus .
Principal hosts. Rats ( Rattus ) and mice of the genera Apodemus and Mus (Bregetova, 1956) .
Distribution. Europe, Turkey, Australia, New Zealand, Tasmania ( Mašán & Fenďa, 2010); Southern Kazakhstan ( Senotrusova, 1987). The only known finding of M. decumani in Asiatic Russia was made in Vilyuisk, Republic of Yakutia, Eastern Siberia ( Zemskaya & Korenberg, 1962).
