Type Locality: No locality cited; South Africa by implication; since restricted to Cape Colony (Lydekker, 1914 a:148) or Cape of Good Hope (G. M. Allen, 1939:502); since selected as Western Cape Prov., Malmesbury Div., Swartland ( Grubb, 1999:23) .

Vernacular Names: Steenbok.

Discussion: Synonymy modified from Ansell (1972:67).
