status |
subfam. nov. |
Subfamily † Rhynchopsenellinae Lepeco and Melo , subfam. nov.
Type genus: † Rhynchopsenella Lepeco and Melo, 2022a .
Included genera: † Libanobythus Prentice et al., 1996 ; † Rhynchopsenella Lepeco and Melo, 2022a .
Diagnosis: Setae on tibiae shorter than the maximum width of the tibia; setae on tarsomeres shorter than the width of basitarsus; medial cell and submarginal cell closed by tubular veins; apex of marginal cell open.
Comments: Although we consider that a precise placement of † Libanobythus would require examination of the type specimen, we tentatively include it in † Rhynchopsenellinae subfam. nov. based mainly on the pubescence of the legs and wing venation.
