HOLOTYPE ♀: red-margined holotype disc; red-margined type [H. T.] disc; “Old Calabar (Rutherford)”; “ rutherfordi Dist. [Distant’s handwriting]”; “Distant Coll. 1911–383.”; “NHMUK 010592441”. Specimen carded ( Fig. 173 ).

Current status: Dorycoris pavoninus (Westwood, 1837) (synonymised by Schouteden 1905: 135; see Schouteden 1907: 58).
