PARALECTOTYPE ♀: blue-margined paralectotype disc; red-margined type disc; “Niam-Niam Bohndorff”; “ erubescens Dist. Current status: Glypsus erubescens Distant, 1890 .
Notes: Clearly, having identified and named the specimens from “the National Museum of Brussels ” (IRSNB), Distant was able to retain some specimens for his own collection (Indeed, Cambefort (2006) explained that it was customary to give a renowned entomologist a third of the specimens in exchange for their identifications.). These, in turn, were received by NHMUK as the first of the instalments from Distant’s collection (presented in late October 1911, despite the fact that the register mentions only moths and Cicadidae in this instalment). Synave (1969: 10) recorded two further typical specimens in IRSNB (the lectotype —marked as such by one of Linnavuori’s determination labels, but not yet designated in a publication—and a paratype [sic!]). Although Linnavuori (1975: 125) formally designated the lectotype, Synave (1969: 10) had actually published the designation first ( ICZN 1999: Art. 74.5 and 74.1.1.); all other typical specimens are to be considered paralectotypes.
