HOLOTYPE ♁: red-margined holotype disc; red-margined type disc; “ V. de Atitlan, 25-3500 ft. Champion.”; “ Podisus atitlanensis Dist. [Distant’s handwriting]”; “NHMUK 010592320”. Specimen well preserved ( Fig. 14 ).

Current status: Podisus congrex (Stål, 1862) (synonymised by Thomas 1992: 83–84).
