Distribution in Iran. East Azarbaijan (Sadeghi et al. 2009; Khaghaninia et al. 2010b), Guilan (Cox & Cox, 1995; Linnavuori & Hosseini 2000), Hamadan (Samin et al. 2011), Kordestan (Wagner 1961), Markazi (Vafaei 2005; Vafaei et al. 2004), West Azerbaijan (Sakenin et al. 2010).

General distribution. Euro-Siberian (Polhemus 1995; Fent et al. 2011).

Comments. The biology of P. minutissima was studied by Vafaei et al. (2004) in Markazi province, and this species feeds on Cyclops , larvae of Ephemeroptera, Chironomidae , and Osteracodae.
