Lectotype (Talavera in Lagascalia 12: 247. 1984): Herb. Linn. No. 1030.37 ( LINN) .

Current name: Centaurea alba L. View in CoL ( Asteraceae ).

Note: Lacaita (in Nuovo Giorn. Bot. Itai, n.s., 30: 203. 1923) discussed this taxon in detail, and noted 1030.37 LINN which he concluded to have come from Löfling (although it is not annotated as such), from the Madrid region. However, like López González (in Anales Jard. Bot. Madrid 37: 98. 1980), he did not treat it as the type.
