Main morphological characters (according to Song & Wilbert 1989). Size 25–70 × 15–30 µm in vivo. Body broadly drop-like, posteriorly broadly rounded. A single ellipsoidal macronuclear nodule with a single micronucleus. Contractile vacuole ventral and subterminal. Extrusomes fusiform, 3–4 µm long, few present in cytoplasm of anterior body half. Somatic ciliary pattern Amphileptus -like; 12–17 right and about 5–6 left kineties.
Distribution. This species was found at several localities in the benthos of the Hron River ( Tirjaková 1998).
