This species has a worldwide distribution: Angola, Argentina, Barbados, Brazil, Canada, Canary Islands, Colombia, Cook Islands, Costa Rica, Cuba, Fiji, French Polynesia, Guadeloupe, Guatemala, Hawaii, Honduras, Jamaica, Les Saintes, Marie Galante, Martinique, Mexico, Montenegro, Moto Quavarei, New Caledonia, Panama, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, SaintMartin, Tahiti, USA and Venezuela. The measurements of females and males collected in this study agree with those of Kreiter & Moraes (1997) and Moraes et al. (2000) for specimens collected in Guadeloupe.
