Diagnosis. The female of the medium-sized, robust, black bee resembles that of P. pondoensis in having a long and very slender basitibial plate. This morphological character also occurs in P. malachurina belonging to the subgenus Lomatalictus . P. cameroni differs from P. pondoensis and all other Chaetalictus species in having strong, greyish to whitish, apical hair bands on the metasomal terga T2–T4. P. malachurina and P. cameroni differ considerably in the sculpturation of the scutum, which is more coarsely sculptured in P. malachurina than in P. cameroni . The male is unknown.

Description

Female. Bl = 7,2–7,3mm. General habitus ( Fig. 113e View FIGURE 113 ). Head. L = 1,8–1,9mm; W = 2,1–2,2mm. Head wider than long ( Fig. 113a View FIGURE 113 ). Integument black except mandibles and malar area partly reddish-brown. Face predominantly shiny and with loose, greyish and pallid yellowish, erect hairs. Mandibles bidentate. Clypeus and supraclypeal area convex in profile. Clypeus strongly and densely punctate; surface shiny. Clypeoantennal distance 0,4mm. Supraclypeal area densely punctate; surface completely sculptured. Paraocular area strongly and densely punctate; surface extensively sculptured. Antennae brownish-black.

Mesosoma. L = 1,4–1,5mm; W (ITS) = 1,7–1,8mm. Integument black. Scutum slightly shiny; surface completely reticulate; disc densely punctate (i = d) ( Fig. 113b View FIGURE 113 ). Scutellum as illustrated in Fig. 113c View FIGURE 113 . Scutum, scutellum, metanotum, mesepisternum and propodeum with greyish and yellowish, erect hairs. Basal area of propodeum as illustrated in Fig. 113c View FIGURE 113 ; propodeum slightly shiny; surface completely reticulate; sparsely punctate. Marginal region of posterior truncation slightly shiny; surface reticulate and partly wrinkled. Wings. Slightly yellowish fuscouse. Legs. Integument yellowish. Vestiture yellowish. Ts strongly serrate, with 6–7, broad, oblique projections ( Fig. 113f View FIGURE 113 ). Bp long and very slender ( Fig. 113g View FIGURE 113 ). Metasoma. L = 3,7–4,2mm; W = 2,5–2,6mm. Integument brownish-black except the margins of T pallid brownish to pale; margins partly translucent. Strong, greyish to whitish, apical hair bands on metasomal terga T2–T4. African bees in the early 20 th century. Distribution ( Fig. 119 View FIGURE 119 ). Records only exist from Willowmore, Vondeling (Eastern Cape). Floral visitation. Unknown. Seasonal activity (first–last observations). x. Remarks. This species is treated as Chaetalictus new species 5 in Timmermann and Kuhlmann (2008b).
