Acoenonia ulleviensis View in CoL sp. nov.

Fig. 11A–C View FIGURE 11

Diagnosis. Male genitalic characters are specific to Acoenonia ulleviensis , as follows. The ejaculatory apodeme is a thick, strongly sclerotized rod whose maximum width is slightly below (holotype) or at (paratype) the midlength; the apex is covered by a membranous cap with small triangular spines ( Fig. 11A View FIGURE 11 ). The tegmen merges apically into the membranous cap, so lacking a distinct apical edge ( Fig. 11A View FIGURE 11 ). The gonostylus has a lobelike extension dorsobasally and a narrow, glabrous, dorsal border stretching the full gonostylar length ( Fig. 11B View FIGURE 11 ). Females are unknown.

Differential diagnosis. Lobed gonostyli as in Acoenonia ulleviensis are found in both A. europaea and A. perissa , but the ejaculatory apodemes of the three species differ clearly: in A. ulleviensis the apodeme is narrow both apically and basally, in A. europaea it is broad (furcate) apically ( Jaschhof 1998: fig. 43d), and in A. perissa it is excessively broad basally ( Jaschhof 1998: fig. 44c).

Other male characters. Body size 1.0 mm. Head. Eye-bridge borderless laterally, 4–5 ommatidia long dorsally. Flagellomeres 12, neck of fourth flagellomere shorter than node ( Fig. 11C View FIGURE 11 ). Number of palpal segments uncertain, probably 2, all segments with translucent sensilla. Wing. Membrane with very few setae apically. Terminalia ( Fig. 11A View FIGURE 11 ). Gonocoxites with deep V-shaped emargination ventrally, dorsal apodemes short, protrude slightly beyond ventrobasal gonocoxal margin, dorsal bridge concave, with slender processes laterally. Gonostylus 2.5 times longer than wide. Tegmen longer than wide, evenly slightly tapered towards apex. Ejaculatory apodeme fusiform both apically and basally.

Etymology. The species epithet, ulleviensis , is an adjective derived from the type-locality, the village of Ullevi in Öland.

Types. Holotype. Male (no. CEC378), Sweden, Öland, Mörbylånga , Ullevi , herb-rich meadow near broadleaf forest, 14 June–15 July 2015, Malaise trap, M. & C. Jaschhof (in NHRS). Paratype . Male (no. CEC379), Czech Republic, Moravia, White Carpathians, Kútky NR, Mandát brook, 4–26 June 2008, MT, P. Chvojka (in NMPC).

Distribution and phenology. Sweden (Öland), Czech Republic. The two specimens known of this species were collected in June–July, one in a meadow and the other in a habitat not specified on the specimen label.
