Carapace with three teeth on the middorsal line; antenna 2 with three gripping teeth on last article; distal article of the endopod of the uropod with eight teeth on the inner margin; peduncle of pleopod 2 with 30 small simple setae on dorsal surface. Female. Carapace with eight teeth on the middorsal line; basis of the pereopod 1 with 12 small conical setae on the inner margin; distal article of the endopod of the uropod with nine teeth on the inner margin.

Description. Adult male, 2.1 mm ( Figs 2 View FIGURE 2 A–B). Body soft and pigmented; integument finely setose. Carapace with three teeth on the middorsal line; frontal lobe less than a half the length of the carapace; ocular lobe with pigment, reaching until the pseudorostral lobes. Sixth pleonite shorter than fifth pereonite, with indentation at the tip. Pereopods 2 and 5 with five free articles, pereopods 1, 3 and 4 with six free articles. Exopods only on pereopod 1. With two pairs of pleopods.

Antenna 1 ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 C) first basal article longer than wide; third article three times longer than wide; main flagellum biarticulate; accessory flagellum reduced. Antenna 2 ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 D) fifth article with three gripping teeth. Mandible ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 E) incisor process with three cusps, lacina mobilis with two cusps. Maxilliped 1 ( Figs 2 View FIGURE 2 F–H) basis longer than the rest of the articles together; ischium longer and broader than merus; merus and carpus with a row of fine hairlike setae; dactylus with a pappose seta and two serrate setae; endite with a long apical cuspidate seta. Maxilliped 2 ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 I) with ischium fused to the basis; merus shorter than carpus; propodus broader and longer than dactylus. Maxilliped 3 ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 A) with straight basis, outer margin expanded beyond the junction of the ischium and merus; ischium short; merus approximately two times the length of the ischium; carpus shorter than propodus; propodus about three times the length of the dactylus, with two groups of fine hairlike setae on dorsal surface; flagellum of the exopod with four articles.

Pereopod 1 ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 B) with six free articles; basis shorter than the rest of the articles together, with three distal teeth on the inner margin; dactylus six times longer than wide. Pereopod 2 ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 C) with five articles, basis shorter than the rest of the articles together; ischium fused to the basis; carpus longer than propodus; propodus about two times the length of the dactylus; dactylus with two long distal annulate setae. Pereopod 3 ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 D) with six free articles, basis shorter than the rest of the articles; ischium and merus of the same length; carpus longer than propodus and dactylus together; dactylus reduced, with two apical unequal setae. Pereopod 4 ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 E) similar to the pereopod 3. Pereopod 5 ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 F) with five free articles, propodus about two times the length of the dactylus. Pleopod 1 ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 G) with peduncle approximately three times longer than wide; endopod shorter than exopod, uniarticulate; exopod biarticulate. Pleopod 2 ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 H) peduncle with 30 small simple setae on dorsal surface; endopod and exopod of the same length; endopod uniarticulate; exopod biarticulate.

Uropod ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 I) with peduncle longer than sixth pleonite and seven serrate setae on the inner margin. Endopod and exopod biarticulate; distal article of the endopod with eight teeth on the inner margin.

Ovigerous female, 2.0 mm ( Figs 4 View FIGURE 4 A–B). The overall appearance similar to the male. Carapace with eight teeth on the middorsal line, with teeth on antero-lateral margin; frontal lobe a fifth of the length of the carapace. Second pereonite the longest of all pleonites. Sixth pleonite with rounded tip. Pleopods absent. All pereopods with five free articles.

Antenna 1 ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 C) similar to the male. Antenna 2 ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 D) uniarticulate and geniculate. Left mandible ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 E) incisor process with four cusps, lacina mobilis absent; right mandible ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 F) lacina mobilis with a cusp. Maxillule ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 G) with two endites, inner endite with four apical setae; outer endite with ten cuspidate setae and five groups of fine hairlike setae. Maxilla ( Figs 4 View FIGURE 4 H–J) with three endites; broad endite with seven groups of fine hairlike setae on dorsal surface, five small plumose setae, a pappose seta, a serrate seta, nine simple setae and a plumose seta on the inner margin; medial narrow endite with three plumose setae and three apical simple setae; distal narrow endite with two setae. Maxilliped 1 ( Figs 4 View FIGURE 4 K–L, 5A) propodus with a distal pappose seta on the outer margin; endite with a small apical cuspidate seta. Maxilliped 2 ( Figs 5 View FIGURE 5 B–C) similar to the male, but with many groups of fine hairlike setae on dorsal surface of the basis. Maxilliped 3 ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 D) similar to the male, but flagellum of the exopod with three articles.

Pereopod 1 ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 E) basis with six distal teeth on the outer margin and 12 small conical setae on the inner margin; merus with two teeth. Pereopod 2 ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 F) similar to the male. Pereopod 3 ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 G) ischium shorter than carpus; propodus and dactylus of similar proportions. Pereopod 4 ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 H) similar to the pereopod 3, but ischium longer than merus. Pereopod 5 ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 I) similar to the male, but dactylus with two unequal annulate setae. Endopod of the uropod ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 J) with nine teeth on the inner margin of the distal article.

Etymology. The species name refers to Zura the nickname of Alberto Jarquín, the father of Jani Jarquín- González, for his invaluable support and love.

Remarks. The only species previously known for this genus is Coricuma nicoyensis Watling & Breedy, 1988 (Gulf of Nicoya, Costa Rica); however, both sexes of Coricuma zurai are distinguishable from the female of the latter species by C. zurai having eight teeth on the middorsal line of the carapace, whereas C. nicoyensis has only four to five teeth; C. zurai has the first basal article of the antenna 1 longer than wide, while C. nicoyensis has the basal article fused to the epistome; C. zurai has 12 small conical setae on the inner margin of the basis of the pereopod 1, whereas in C. nicoyensis the margin is bare; C. zurai has nine teeth on the inner margin of the distal article of the endopod of the uropod, while C. nicoyensis has only six. In males, C. zurai has three distal gripping teeth on the last article of the antenna 2, while C. nicoyensis has only two; C. zurai has 30 small simple setae on the dorsal surface of the peduncle of pleopod 2, whereas C. nicoyensis has several rows of outwardly directed scales on the posterior surface.
