Type species: Trifida quadripunctata Thapa et Sohi, 1986

Head a little narrower than pronotum with length along midline slightly greater than distance between eyes, but 3/5 time to middle length of pronotum ( Figs 9–12 View FIGURES 1–16 ). Forewing with brown spot at apex of cu cell ( Figs 3, 4 View FIGURES 1–16 , 33 View FIGURES 28–34 ). Hind wing with CuA” separate from MP"+CuA' distally, anal veins fused and av extended to c ( Fig.34 View FIGURES 28–34 ).

Abdominal apodemes reaching 4th or 5th abdominal sternite. Pygofer with dorsal V-shaped sclerotization articulating with variform process on side ( Figs 22–23 View FIGURES 17–23 , 26 View FIGURES 24–27 , 31 View FIGURES 28–34 , 38 View FIGURES 35–39 ). Subgenital plate longer than pygofer, nearly triangular, broad basically and narrowed apically with lateral tooth-like protrusion at about apical 1/3 and several microsetae along outer and apical margins ( Figs 20 View FIGURES 17–23 , 27 View FIGURES 24–27 , 32 View FIGURES 28–34 , 39 View FIGURES 35–39 ). Paramere long with subapical protrusion simple ( Figs 19 View FIGURES 17–23 , 25 View FIGURES 24–27 , 30 View FIGURES 28–34 , 37 View FIGURES 35–39 ). Connective short, caudal end fused with aedeagus, anterior arms widely separated. Aedeagal shaft bipartite with symmetrical appendages; dorsal apodeme and process developed, process with apical part narrowed and termination bicornate and hooked; gonopore subapical ( Figs 17–18 View FIGURES 17–23 , 24–25 View FIGURES 24–27 , 28–29 View FIGURES 28–34 , 35–36 View FIGURES 35–39 ).
