Distribution.
Madagascar, widespread ( Guignot 1959-1961; Bertrand and Legros 1971; Bameul 1984; Biström 1985; Rocchi 1991; Bergsten et al. 2020).
Habitat in study area
(Fig. 2B, C View Figure 2 ). Bidessus longistriga was sampled at peripheral sites and at one inner massif site, in open areas, in permanent or temporary lentic environments, with water stagnant or slowly flowing, clear or turbid, with sand and/or clay bottom. It prefers habitats with at least some marginal vegetation, and is tolerant to anthropogenic disturbance.
