Microstylum flaviventre Macquart, 1850: 366 View in CoL . Type locality: Bangladesh (Sylhet [Silhet]) [Holotype ♂, MNHNP]. World distribution: Bangladesh, China [not India] ( Macquart 1850: 366; Oldroyd 1975: 120).
Note: No occurrence records are currently known from modern India. Previous Indian occurrence citations ( Lal 1960: 48; Oldroyd 1975: 120) refers to the type locality, Sylhet (city), which was located in pre-partition British India but is now part of Bangladesh.
