Colletes latipes Friese 1915 View in CoL
Colletes latipes Friese 1915: 266 View in CoL , 268, 277–278, ♂ lectotype [designated by Kuhlmann, 1998] (type locality: “NO.-Afrika, Abessinien, Harrar”) (ZMHB, examined).
New records (6 specimens). ETHIOPIA: 1 ♀, 2 ♂, Bonga , Bachtal, E36°27′08′′ N07°14′28′′, 2620 m, 7.xii.2014, H.-J. Flügel, on Lotus cf. discolor E. Mey View in CoL ( PCHF, RCMK) GoogleMaps ; 1 ♀, Bonga , Boka-Forest , Saum + Lichtung, E36°22′29′′ N07°18′05′′, 2439 m, 11.xii.2014, H.-J. Flügel ( RCMK) GoogleMaps ; 1 ♂, Harrar , [E42°07′ N09°18′], 1908, Kristensen ( NHMW) GoogleMaps ; 1 ♂, idem, 1911, Kristensen ( NHMW) GoogleMaps .
Remarks. The male collected in 1911 by Kristensen in Harrar is labeled exactly like the type material housed in the museums in Berlin and Frankfurt ( Kuhlmann 1998) and presumably belongs to the original type series (see Kuhlmann 2018).
General distribution. The species is apparently endemic to the highlands of Ethiopia.
