This species is closed to A. nigripennis Kamiya in external appearance and male genitalia but can be distinguished from the latter by the yellowish brown pronotum bearing a black longitudinal stripe at the central part ( Figs 10a, 10d, 10g View FIGURE 10 ). In A. nigripennis , pronotum is yellowish brown without any maculae ( Fig. 12a View FIGURE 12 ).

Prothoracic hypomeron and prosternum brown. Mesoventrite and elytral epipleurae dark brown, metaventrite black. Legs yellowish brown.

Head with fine frontal punctures, as large as eye facets, 0.5–1.0 diameters apart. Eye densely faceted, interocular distance about 0.33 times of head width ( Figs 10c, 10f View FIGURE 10 ). Pronotal punctures slightly larger than those on frons, 1.0–1.5 diameters apart. Surface of elytra with punctures much larger than those on pronotum, separated by 1.0–2.0 diameters.

Abdominal postcoxal lines complete and moderately recurved, reaching 4/5 length of ventrite 1 ( Fig. 10j View FIGURE 10 ), area enclosed by the lines finely and sparsely punctate, irregularly distributed, broadly smooth along the lines; ventrite 1 with coarse and sparse punctures at middle.

Male genitalia. Penis short and slender, slightly broadened at base, apex pointed ( Fig. 10k View FIGURE 10 ); tegmen with penis guide subtriangular, widest at base, gradually tapering to apex in lateral view ( Fig. 10l View FIGURE 10 ), slightly longer than 2/3 length of parameres; penis guide in inner view subtriangular, widest at base, narrowing to apex ( Fig. 10m View FIGURE 10 ); parameres stout and elongate oval with few setae at apex in lateral view ( Fig. 10l View FIGURE 10 ).
