Diagnosis. This species is close to A. beneficus Kamiya in male genitalia but can be distinguished from the latter by the elytral pattern and the blunt tip of penis according to the illustrations given by Poorani & Booth (2021).

Material examined. Not examined.
Distribution. Sri Lanka.
Remarks. This species was transferred from the genus Scymnus Kugelann to Axinoscymnus Kamiya after examination of the type specimens by Poorani & Booth (2021).
