( Figs 11a–j View FIGURE 11 )

Axinoscymnus macrosiphonatus Hoàng, 1979: 14 .

Diagnosis. This species is similar to A. fumatus (Sicard) and A. singaporicus Pang et Gordon in the stout penis but can be separated from them by the black elytra and the penis with pointed apex and apical 1/2 to proximal swollen with membranous appendage ( Fig. 11a, 11h View FIGURE 11 ). In A. fumatus , the elytra are dark brown and the penis with a blunt tip. In A. singaporicus , the elytra are also dark brown with yellowish brown basal margin and a blunt tip of penis.

Description. TL: 1.68–1.80 mm, TW: 1.17–1.21 mm, TH: 0.81–0.87 mm, TL/TW: 1.43–1.49, EL/EW: 1.11– 1.18, PL/PW: 0.46–0.50, HW/PW: 0.66–0.68, PW/EW: 0.70–0.72.

Body elongate oval, moderately convex, dorsum with white pubescence ( Figs 11a–f View FIGURE 11 ). Head black or blackish brown ( Fig. 11f View FIGURE 11 ), sometimes yellowish brown ( Fig. 11c View FIGURE 11 ), antennae and mouthparts yellowish brown, tip of mandibles dark brown. Pronotum yellowish brown, scutellar shield dark brown. Elytra black with narrowly apical margins yellowish brown ( Figs 11b, 11e View FIGURE 11 ). Prothoracic hypomeron and prosternum yellowish brown. Mesoventrite and elytral epipleurae dark brown. Metaventrite black. Legs yellowish brown.

Head with fine frontal punctures, as large as eye facets, 0.5–1.0 diameters apart. Eyes densely faceted, interocular distance about 0.2 times of head width ( Figs 11c, 11f View FIGURE 11 ). Pronotal punctures slightly larger than those on frons, 1.0–1.5 diameters apart. Surface of elytra with punctures much larger than those on pronotum, separated by 1.0–2.0 diameters.

Abdominal postcoxal lines complete and moderately recurved, reaching 4/5 length of ventrite 1 ( Fig. 11g View FIGURE 11 ), area enclosed by the lines finely and sparsely punctate, irregularly distributed, broadly smooth along the lines; ventrite 1 with coarse and sparse punctures at middle, uniformly distributed.

Male genitalia. Penis stout, base of penis strongly broadened, basal half to proximal part swollen with membranous appendage, apex slightly curved inward, narrowing to apex in lateral view ( Fig. 11h View FIGURE 11 ); tegmen with penis guide widest at base, subtriangular in inner view ( Fig. 11j View FIGURE 11 ), slightly shorter than 1/2 length of parameres; parameres stout and oval with several setae at apex and inner side in lateral view ( Fig. 11i View FIGURE 11 ).
