Diagnosis. Six strong dc, 1–2 irregularly paired acr. Palpus brown. Fore tarsomere 1 with row of 5–6 short v; hind tarsomere 1 with 8 erect short black ventral bristles on basal 1/5 and row of 6–7 pv.

Description. Male. Body length 1.9 mm, wing length 1.85 mm.

Head metallic green with pale gray pollen; frons and face brilliant. Hairs and bristles on head yellow. Ocellar tubercle weak, with 2 very long oc and 2 very short posterior hairs. Lower postocular bristles (including ventral hairs) pale. Antenna ( Fig. 22 View FIGURES 21–23 ) blackish; first flagellomere blackish, rather short, about 2/3 as long as wide; arista dorsal, with basal segment very short. Proboscis blackish, with brown hairs; palpus brown, with brownish hairs and 2 brownish apical bristles.

Thorax metallic green with pale gray pollen, mesonotum and scutellum brilliant. Hairs and bristles on thorax yellow; 6 strong dc, 1–2 irregularly paired acr short and hair­like; scutellum with 2 pairs of bristles. Propleuron with 1 yellowish hair on lower portion. Legs including coxae yellow with all tarsomere 5 brown. Hairs and bristles on legs yellow; coxae with yellowish hairs and bristles; fore coxa with 3–4 anterior and apical bristles, mid coxa with 2–3 anterior and apical bristles, hind coxa with 1 brown outer bristle near middle. Mid femur with 1 av apically; hind femur with 1 av apically. Mid tibia with 2 ad and 2 pd, apically with 4 bristles; hind tibia with 2 ad, 2 pd, apically with 4 bristles. Fore tarsomere 1 with row of 5–6 short v; hind tarsomere 1 with 8 erect short black ventral bristles on basal 1/5 and row of 6–7 pv. Relative lengths of tibia and 5 tarsomeres of legs. LI 2.6: 1.5: 0.7: 0.6: 0.3: 0.5; LII 3.6: 2.2: 0.9: 0.7: 0.4: 0.5; LIII 4.0: 1.4: 1.0: 0.7: 0.5: 0.5.

Wing hyaline ( Fig. 21 View FIGURES 21–23 ), veins brownish; R 4+5 and M parallel apically, CuAx ratio 0.28. Squama yellow with pale yellow hairs. Halter brownish.

Abdomen metallic green with pale gray pollen, dorsum brilliant. Hairs and bristles on abdomen yellow.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 23 View FIGURES 21–23 ). Epandrium distinctly longer than wide, narrowing to apex, and with curved lateral process; surstylus thick, acute apically and curved upward; cercus round, with moderately long hairs.

Female. Unknown.

Type material. Holotype male, GUANGDONG: Nanling National Nature Reserve, Xiaohuangshan , 9.V.2004, P. Grootaert.

Etymology. The specific epithet derives from the type locality Guangdong.

Comments. This new species is similar to Chrysotimus unifascia Yang and Saigusa from Shaanxi, but may be separated from the latter by hind tarsomere 1 with 10–12 erect short black ventral bristles on basal 1/5, and epandrium narrowing to apex, surstylus narrow. In C. unifascia , the hind tarsomere 1 has 4–5 short black ventral bristles, and epandrium is round apically, surstylus is thick ( Yang and Saigusa, 2005).
